A 22,730m2 viewing park comprising seven viewing decks and 12 binoculars has opened in Ras Al Khaimah, near the summit of Jebel Jais, the UAEs highest mountain.
Located 1,250m above sea level, the Viewing Deck Park offers visitors views of the Arabian Gulf and the Al Hajar Mountain valleys, as well as the recently inaugurated Jebel Jais Flight, the worlds longest zipline.
A dedicated food truck zone is also in the pipeline for the pPark, which features restroom and parking facilities.
The park, which is lit by solar energy and constructed using locally sourced materials, was designed with long-term sustainability in mind and could serve as a case study in sustainable tourism, UAE state news agency, WAM, reported.
Haitham Mattar, chief executive officer of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA), commented: "This key product launch will further enhance Ras Al Khaimah mountain-beach-desert [offering] and promote the emirate as an all-round tourist destination.
"This attraction allows visitors to experience the awe-inspiring perspectives and the often-hidden bird life of the Hajar Mountain range, along with the other flora and fauna found in the area".
He added: "Although open round-the-clock, we do envisage particularly heavy demand during weekends and holidays, and we are, therefore, working on a traffic control plan to ensure everyone who wants to access the views is able to do so."
